Rescue, Serve, and Empower families by preventing abuse and neglect

Our Mission:

Salty Family Services leads the fight in preventing child abuse and neglect in our communities. Our mission is to RESCUE, SERVE and EMPOWER families to prevent child abuse and neglect.

What We Do

We work with families who are struggling in life and are at risk of having a Department of Children and Families investigation. We work directly with these families providing them support, mentoring, and connections that allow them to reach goals and build a sustainable future.

Our mission to Rescue, Serve and Empower explains the way we approach each client’s situation:

Families in need come to us by referrals from individuals, schools, churches, child welfare agencies and other community organizations. We engage the family to assess how we may be able to meet their need.
We provide temporary, preventative and cooperative support. Our mentors meet with families weekly to equip them with financial guidance, emotional support, and spiritual mentorship.
Our mentors teach effective and practical problem solving skills, model and connect families to healthy relationships, and lead them toward independence.

What We've Done

  • In 2017 alone we served 98 families, which allowed us to rescue 185 children associated with them.

  • In January of 2017, our organization was recognized  for our work by the CEO of Community Partnership for Children for having a part in helping reduce the number of children coming into foster care by 30%.

  • We provided families with donated cars, permanent housing, affordable daycare, mentoring and full and part-time employment.

children helped

In 2017 we helped the children of our community at a cost of just $819.23 per child, or $151,557 in one year.

3 Million+

dollars of tax payer money saved

$3,394,500 would be the cost to the tax payer if each of these children were to go into foster care for one year.
