Lives Renewed: 3 Stories from Easter

As we recently celebrated the resurrection of the risen Christ, we also delighted in lives renewed. Three of our mentored families were baptized as evidence of their new life in Jesus Christ. We want to share a part of each story.

Robin’s Story

Robin and her son have been coming to Salty. Together they had been listening to the sermons on Romans and the son began to ask about baptism. As this mother was answering his questions and explaining to him what it meant to be baptized, she realized that she had never been baptized as an adult. With her rededication to Christ, she felt it was God’s perfect timing to get baptized alongside her son. Her entire family, including her parents, were there in support.

Myki’s Story

Myki was someone mentored a few years ago. During her and her mentor’s time together, the mentor would initiate conversation about reading scripture and growing in faith. Those seeds took root, and over time, this woman decided to give her life to Jesus. She knew that Easter Sunday was the day to fully commit herself to the Lord by being baptized. Her mentor was honored to be a part of her baptism and will continue to encourage and guide her, helping her grow her relationship with Jesus.

Tiana’s Story

Tiana has been grateful for the mentoring received and often asked her mentor questions about scripture passages. The mentor was delighted when Tiana accepted an invitation to attend an Easter service at Salty. She was deeply moved during worship service.  After the message she asked if she could be baptized that day, and she said she wanted to fully give her life to Jesus. She and her daughter loved Salty and want to continue attending.

This is just a small sample of the  loving guidance found through mentoring and God's faithfulness. As we continue to reach out to struggling families in the community, we will also continue to proclaim that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Thank you for supporting this mission.
