Celebrating More Than a Birthday

These Smiles Brought to You by the Generosity of Volunteers!

A resilient single mom with five of her own children—including two sets of twins—and caring for a sixth child came to Salty Family Services last year after walking through a season of hardship. After their home was damaged in a hurricane, the family spent time in a shelter before finally settling into a cozy rental in a quiet neighborhood.

Through it all, she kept a spirit of gratitude, regularly giving thanks to God for the blessings she could still see. With the support of her mentor, she’s been faithfully working toward a stable future—building a sustainable budget, growing in parenting skills, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for her children.

This month, thanks to the generosity of one of our donors, she was able to throw a birthday party for her 4 year old twin boys. A gift card helped cover the cost of a special celebration just for them—something that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.

Their smiles say it all.

Moments like these remind us that practical help creates space for joy. And when a family feels seen, supported, and celebrated, healing and hope begin to take root.
